Leyshon Resources Intersects further High Grade Epithermal Veins
News Item - Conduit PR
Leyshon Resources intersects further high grade epithermal veins at its Zheng Guang gold-silver-zinc project, China
§ Further high grade intersections obtained including 16m @ 10.89 g/t gold and 2m @ 53.74 g/t gold. § Angled drilling has confirmed increases in vein width and grade.
Leyshon Resources Limited (“Leyshon”) (ASX & AIM: LRL) today announces that it has intersected further high grade epithermal veins during its drill programme to extend the 1.2 million ounce Zheng Guang gold-zinc-silver project in Heilongjiang, northeast China.
Results from holes ZGD110, 111 and 112 located 200 metres to the north west of the Main Ore Zone include the following significant intersections:
ZGD110 1 metre at 10.89 g/t gold, 19 g/t silver 1.71% zinc including 2 metres at 53.74g/t gold, 84 g/t silver 8.2% zinc
ZGD111 3 metres at 9.04 g/t gold 35 g/t silver 3.71% zinc
Hole ZGD110 intersected over 37 metres of epithermal veins within in a 58 metre zone approximately 100 metres below surface.
The drill programme is expected to be concluded late October, 2006 and to date, from 42 holes drilled, assay results have been released from 10, including the recent bonanza grade intersection from hole ZGD113 grading 600.75 g/t gold, 445 g/t silver and 5.34% zinc and hole ZGD102, 11 metres grading 8.32 g/t gold, 29 g/t silver and 2.46% Zinc (including one metre at 45.65 g/t gold, 157 g/t silver and 17.27% zinc).
Further results on the remaining drill holes are expected shortly.
Angled drilling of the steeply dipping high grade gold-zinc veins in this year’s programme is resulting in significant increases in vein width and grade compared with previous vertical drilling of the same veins.
Angle hole ZGD110 has intersected 16 metres at 10.89g/t gold and 1.71% zinc which is a significant increase in width and grade over the 8 metres at 5.41g/t gold and 0.62% zinc in the same zone previously reported in vertical hole ZGD086.
Also in ZGD110, an 11 metre intersection at 4.36g/t gold and 0.61% zinc was a significant increase over the previously reported grades of between 0.60 and 2.84g/t gold in a number of vertical holes intersecting the same vein.
Angled drilling is providing a better understanding of the structural controls and a more accurate estimate of the true width and grade of the steeply dipping high grade gold and zinc veins that make up a large proportion of the Zheng Guang resource.
Managing Director Paul Atherley commenting today said “Angled drilling in this year’s programme is highlighting that the epithermal veins are thicker and higher grade than initially thought and we expect that this will have a very positive impact on the new resource estimate. We now has a much better understanding of the deposit and we look forward to more positive results in the future”
