Tianshan Goldfields Ltd Drilling Report
News Item - Conduit PR
Tianshan Goldfields Limited ('Tianshan' or 'the Company') Drilling supports contiguous mineralisation over 1.2km
A total of 27,188m (164 holes) diamond and 5,807m (50 holes) RC drilling have been completed. Drilling shows Jinxi and Balake joining as one deposit, supporting an increase in tonnage when the resource calculation is updated . Current drilling now seeks to show continuity of mineralisation between Jinxi and Pond. New prospect (Sunny Valley) identified in Zone 3 which resembles Balake. Assay results are expected end of October. New anomalous gold target discovered on the regional Nalensayi tenement, which is planned to be drill tested in the current drilling programme. Significant drill intersections include: Balake Prospect Jinxi and Jinxi West Prospect 26m at 1.30g/t Au (including 22m at 1.47g/t Au) 12m at 1.23g/t Au (including 8m at 1.62g/t au) 37m at 1.02g/t Au (including 22m at 1.38g/t Au) 19m at 1.40g/t Au
Mayituobi Prospect Yelmand Prospect 35m at 0.73g/t Au (including 10m at 1.40g/t Au) 56m at 0.78g/t Au (including 8m at 1.29g/t Au)
'The positive drill results received to date from the 2006 field programme confirm that the Balake and Jinxi deposits join together in a zone of contiguous mineralisation over 1.2 km, and new mineralised targets identified in regional exploration support the view that the Gold Mountain Project is a large mineralised system' said Chairman, Mr Keith Liddell, today.
Overview
Tianshan Goldfields Limited ('Tianshan' or 'the Company') is pleased to release further Zone 1 infill and extension results at Balake and Jinxi.
These results have now confirmed extensions to the Balake deposit to the east at shallow depth and with high grade. These assay results increase the extent of mineralisation to the east of Balake , and further support the presence of a contiguous mineralised zone east from Balake through to Jinxi and to Pond (referred to as Zone 1, 2). Drilling is currently in progress at Pond and hydrothermally altered intersections have been observed on central southern areas of Zone 1. Two recently completed holes in Zone 3 at the Sunny Valley prospect, 300m south of Balake, have also intersected hydrothermally altered rock types favourable for mineralisation.
A total of 27,188m (164 holes) diamond and 5,807m (50 holes) RC drilling have been completed to date.
Approximately 27,000 samples have been submitted to the laboratory, with 25,000 of these assayed and reported to date.
Drilling Results
Balake
Drilling of 35 diamond holes is complete, for a total of 5,948m. Drilling orientations were aimed to intersect the blanket style mineralisation in Zones 1 and 2 at nominal 100m centres. Significant thicknesses of mineralisation logged at shallow depth in the line of holes nominally collared 100m east of Yelmand Creek. Holes collared to the west of the creek intersected mineralisation at greater depths compared to the shallow blanket style mineralisation to the east. The drilling also shows that favourable host lithologies to mineralisation extend up to 400m north from the creek outcrops (these assays are awaited). These drilling results have confirmed that hydrothermally altered breccias extend to the east under the ridge which separates Balake from Jinxi.

Drilling at the Sunny Valley prospect (Holes DD06SUN001 and 002), located some 300m south of Balake, in a zone of favourable host rocks and adjacent to an east west cross cutting structure has also intersected breccias. Assays are awaited.
Jinxi and Jinxi West
A total of 26 diamond drill holes for 5,363m and 11 reverse circulation holes for 2,031m have been completed. A series of recently completed holes on the south western flanks of the Jinxi deposit have located blanket style of mineralisation that appears to link with Balake (s 3 & 4). Assays have only been received for 12 diamond and 3 RC drill holes, and most intersected brecciated and hyrothermally overprinted sandstones and conglomerates with moderate grade gold intersections over significant widths. Mineralisation has been closed off to the north east.

Mayituobi
A total of 19 diamond holes for 1,536m drilled have been completed. These have infilled and extended the known mineralised envelope to the northeast of the deposit and closed off mineralisation to the north. Assays for seven recently completed drill holes are awaited.
DD06MY025 - 4m at 0.73g/t Au from 8m DD06MY028 - 35m at 0.73g/t Au from 19m (including 10m at 1.40g/t Au from 25m) Yelmand
Nine diamond drill holes, for 2,044m drilled, have been completed in the south and south western area of the Yelmand resource. Drill hole DD06YEL107, collared 150m northwest from YEL104 reported significant thickness of hydrothermally altered sulphidic tectonic and vein breccias:
DD06YEL107 - 56m at 0.78g/t Au from 131m (including 8m at 1.29g/t Au from 131m and 35m at 0.82g/t from 144m) Assays are awaited from two further drill holes located 200m northwest from hole YEL107. These holes will test whether DDYEL107 has identified a new zone which may extend the Yelmand deposit to the south west.
Chart
A series of four diamond drillholes, for 435m, intersected variably hydrothermally brecciated volcaniclastics over some 400m of strike. The only significant intersection is:
DD06CHA002 - 3m at 1.75g/t Au from 43m Other Targets
A total of 35 RC drillholes and 23 diamond drillholes for 7,135m, tested the Plateau, Kezele Kula, Ridge, Gorge, and Hongling prospects. Assays reported no gold mineralisation.
Future Work
The drill programme going forward will include testing for northern extensions to mineralisation at Yelmand and extensions west of Balake. A series of holes will also be drilled in the Jinxi south west area to confirm continuity of mineralisation with Balake. Holes will also test for possible 'feeder' systems between Jinxi and the recently discovered Pond prospect, where higher grade intersections were discovered this year.
The continued exploration drilling programme will also assess the significance of the new gold mineralised targets discovered on the Nalensayi tenement, discovered during the recently completed initial phase of mapping, rock chip and soil sampling programmes. Ground magnetic surveys have already covered 30km2 of the Gold Mountian tenement, and ground magnetic surveys are planned in the coming month at Arxi North and Nalensayi together with extensions to the Urumu-Tulasu orientation survey. Any targets identified may be drill tested in the later part of the year.
